Riggs Machine & Fabricating was founded in 1979 by John Riggs. John was a machinist at Allied Chemical, but when they closed their doors, he began manufacturing products in his small shop as a sub-contractor for GE. As the business grew his son Bert decided to leave Armco and join in full time. In 1982 they outgrew the original shop and built the main building. Since then the business has grown, adding more employees and expanding into five buildings.
